Media Vertical Modernization

What I’m taking on

I own modernization of the Media vertical: how we evolve legacy workflows, services, and delivery patterns into something more maintainable, observable, and ready for what the business needs next.

Why it matters

Media pipelines touch assets, processing, storage, and downstream consumers. Modernizing a vertical like this is not one big migration. It is aligning teams, sequencing risk, and keeping production moving while the foundation changes underneath.

How I’m approaching it

I treat this like a platform product: clear milestones, documented decisions, and incremental delivery instead of big-bang rewrites. That means working with engineers who own systems today, surfacing dependencies early, and making trade-offs visible before they become production surprises.

What success looks like

Less friction for teams shipping media-related work, clearer ownership boundaries, and infrastructure that absorbs new requirements without another one-off workaround. A vertical that feels intentionally designed, not accumulated by accident.

What I’m learning along the way

Leading modernization is as much communication and prioritization as architecture. I am building on past work like RabbitMQ Video Processing Pipeline and Edge Observability with Prometheus while stretching into broader technical leadership across a whole slice of the platform.
